Competitive

The Interscholastic sports program at Excelsior Academy provides students an opportunity to learn the benefits of competition, hard work, goal setting, cooperation, teamwork, respect and sportsmanship. Students are able to learn, practice, and demonstrate these skills in a safe, structured, and positive environment. Excelsior offers four sports each year for our students: flag football, basketball, softball and soccer.

The interscholastic teams compete against other schools similar to Excelsior in the CAPSES sports league.  Each team will participate in tournament play with a chance to win a championship for that particular sport. Any student may sign up for a team and will play provided they meet their weekly school responsibilities as well as adhere to the Excelsior Academy Student-Athlete Code Of Conduct. Excelsior Academy has a solid reputation for achievement in the interscholastic sports program with a five year championship run in football (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009), back to back basketball championships (2008, 2009), and one softball championship (2010). The positive results of student participation in Interscholastic sports are not found in the victories but are found in the development of confidence and poise that students acquire on and off the fields and courts.

Each year Excelsior hosts the Eagle Olympics: a school-wide field day. Check out the promo for our 2016 Eagle Olympics.
