Chartered in San Diego in 1960, we are a service organization of men and women desiring personal involvement in the leadership and improvement of our community. As Kiwanians, we volunteer our time to make our communities and world better places in which to live and work. As a group, we achieve what individuals cannot do alone. Junior Achievement of San Diego County

From an idea born at a conference in 1916 dedicated to the advancement of boys’ and girls’, to the creation of the Boys’ and Girls’ Bureau in 1919 which became the Junior Achievement Bureau in 1920, JA has delivered on its promise of hope and opportunity to more than 50 million American youth and millions of additional young people around the world. With close to a century of work, JA continues to reinvent itself and remains pertinent to the advancement of youth in today’s fast-paced world.

US Navy of San Diego

Our Mission is to deliver the highest standard of support and quality of life services to the Fleet, Fighter and Family.

Naval Base San Diego is the principal homeport of the Pacific Fleet, consisting of 46 Navy ships, one Coast Guard cutters, seven Military Sealift Command logistical support platforms, several research and auxiliary vessels. Naval Base San Diego is home to 213 individual commands, each having specific and specialized fleet support purposes. Naval Base San Diego proper is comprised of over 1,600 land acres and 326 acres of water. The base is also responsible for Commander, Navy Region Southwest and Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest headquarters located downtown San Diego, Naval Medical Center in Balboa Park and Admiral Baker recreation and golf course located in Mission Valley.

Gillespie Field Air & Space Museum

From a small one-hangar beginning, the San Diego Air & Space Museum’s annex at Gillespie Field has grown to become an integral part of the Museum’s aircraft restoration and replica reproduction program. Staffed mainly by volunteers, the facility has produced some of SDASM’s finest work.

San Diego Parks & Recreation: Therapeutic Recreation Services

The City of San Diego Park and Recreation Therapeutic Recreation Services (TRS) program provides sports, recreation, leisure and outreach services to San Diegans with physical, mental and emotional disabilities.

Services include therapeutic recreation programs and adaptive sports opportunities. These address the special needs of individuals with disabilities who have difficulty accessing and participating in recreation opportunities offered to the general public.

San Diego Natural History Museum

The mission go the Natural History Museum is to interpret the natural world through research, education and exhibits; to promote understanding of the evolution and diversity of southern California and the peninsula of Baja California; and to inspire in all a respect for nature and the environment.

Their purpose is to emphasize this unique and diverse region while maintaining a global perspective; to collect and preserve scientific specimens for research and as a continuous record of the changing world for future generations; to serve as a center for the scientific study of biological diversity and evolution; to provide dynamic leadership in natural history and environmental education through exhibits, publications, and educational programs, striving to make this outreach relevant to all the people of the San Diego region; to foster cooperative efforts in natural history research and education throughout our region.

Media Arts Center San Diego: The Digital Gym
